About Me

I started graduate school aware of the desire to be involved in people's lives in a meaningful way. I began course work in theology, but quickly realized that was not my path, and applied to the Marriage and Family Therapy program. When I began my first semester of course work in psychology I had a sense of confirmation that this was the right path for me. I have now been doing psychotherapy for over 25 years, and I continue to be amazed at the depth of the human psyche and the strength of the human heart. I continue to find a deep satisfaction in the healing and transformation that happens in the therapeutic relationship. 

I am constantly evolving in my therapeutic skills, practices and perspectives. I am currently incorporating Rapid Resolution Therapy techniques in my work and excited by the results. I work to bring a sense of hopefulness and empowerment to my clients, allowing them to be fully present and freed up in their lives. I have integrated several theories and practices in my work along with the relational systems of my graduate work, including Jungian and Self Psychology.

I have also studied applied kinesiology, body work/massage, guided imagery and yoga/meditation. Catherine earned her B.A. in English and Philosophy from Calvin College. She holds a Masters of Divinity, and Marriage and Family Therapy, from Fuller Graduate School of Psychology. She is a Certified Practitioner of Rapid Resolution Therapy. Catherine is a member in good standing of California Association of Marriage and Family Therapists, and the Institute for Rapid Resolution Therapy. She has been in private practice in Pasadena since 1990.
